These are great products for moving liquid from A to B. One major concern I have been dealing with is with recirculation, the small husk particles get caught and plug the "auto shut off" causing pump flow problems during mashing and lautering, which is unfortunate because the auto shut off is really nice when moving from fitting to fitting and still keeping the pump primed. Just something to keep in mind when considering this product.

These work great for CLEAN LIQUIDS. When recirculating mash for a "RIMS" type mashing system the auto shut off mechanism plugs rapidly. Also I tried a whirlpool recirculation with my boil and pellet hops plugged them immediately! Major headache! If you want to do recirculation with suspended solids or using a counter-flow/plate chiller to cool hot hop filled wort, these will not work...

As other reviewers have said the shutoff feature causes clogging issues in most homebrew applications. I use the regular female QD's on all my hose ends and if you plan to do the same there is not much point in having the shutoff feature on the hose end. This will also make it difficult for you to clean and dry your hoses.
