I made this with WhiteLabs WLP002 (that is what i had on hand) and it is unbelievable! I get compliments from everyone who tries it. Semi-Sweet, chocolate tones, and smooth. I only made it once, but the keg is almost empty. Have to do it again.
p.s. This one sneaks up on you!

I used the Wyeast smack pack with this brew. I have tried many a porter in the cold winter months, but this one takes the cake. Slightly sweet with great flavor. Packs a punch too. My wife absolutely loves this brew, and it's definitely my favorite porter.
I had read some forum posts about this kit possibly being over-carbonated. I found that accurate, until I let it bottle condition for about a month. After that it was the perfect porter. Thick creamy head and no carbonation problem. If you can hold off a month, you'll be very well rewarded.

All I can say is, wow. My friend, who is a fellow Homebrewer/ Beer Connoisseur tried one of my brews. He said, and I quote, "Dude, your beer drank like a fine wine." This beer has it all: Flavor- Strong, heavy, porter taste with a chocolatey smooth finish. Body- Heavy, almost chewy sensation. Alcohol content- 8 of these will knock even a seasoned drinker on their butt. I love variety, but this is my go-to-beer when I want reliability. Cant go wrong!!!!! TRY IT!!!!!

One of the first kits that I've brewed, very easy to make. I tried it after 3 weeks and it was very sweet, after about a month and a half of bottle conditioning it was perfect!

This porter is excellent after a month in the bottle. Bet it will be better in another month if it can last that long. Used Wyeast smack pack.

Tried the first one after 4 weeks and it was very good. After 6 weeks even better. I think it will keep getting better with age. Love this porter, smooth and great flavors. I did add vanilla to a gallon, it is a great touch. Can't wait to brew it again.

Straight out of the box this is an awesome beer kit. Added 8oz. of malto-dextrin to thicken it up a bit so to distinguish the body and it turned out so well that I brew it often. What is so awesome about this Porter is how fast it conditions in the bottle, holds a head, and draws compliments while getting better with age.
10 days ferm at 65F Wyeast London Ale;
21+ days secondary;
2 weeks bottled at 68F is enough to enjoy.
At 6 months it's like a delicacy. All-Star Rating!

I haven't brewed a Porter in many years as I am still riding the "Hop Head" wave.
This kit produced one nice brew. I did split the batch and flavored half with blackberries and I now I wish I did the whole batch! Both flavored and straight up, this beer is true to form and only getting better with time. Impressive to say the least.

The batch I made reminded me of Imperial Stout in flavor and alcohol content. It will probably disappear too fast to age. I can imagine the whole grain version must be fantastic.
