| Scottish Export 80-/ w/Munton's 6 gm dry yeast | | Scottish Export 80-/: The Export is the highest gravity allowed under the Scottish ale designation (anything higher and it’s a Scotch ale) with the antiquated reference “/-” designated how many schillings a barrel was taxed. The Export was an 80/- (schilling) beer. The Export has a tawny brown color with a light biscuit flavor, low hop profile and due to a lower fermenting temp, a creamy mouthfeel with just a touch of peat. As always, Midwest recommends making a yeast starter with liquid yeast. Even packages that have experienced prolonged exposure to high shipping temps can be revived if a properly aerated yeast starter is made. Other insulated shipping container options coming soon.
