Good Seal With Minimal Muscle Review by Greg

(Posted on 1/12/10)

Product Rating:

This is a great starter capper. It is built fairly strong, it doesn't feel cheap or plastic-y. Minimal muscle is required to seal the caps and each cap will turn out uniform. The magnet is strong enough to put the cap in the capper then set it on the bottle for capping.

Mine broke on the third batch of bottles. Review by Rick

(Posted on 1/19/10)

Product Rating:

Pretty idiot proof or so I thought... During the first bottle of my third batch of beer the capper broke, sheared off the top of the bottle, and gashed my hand open. Rather than waste a batch of brew, I removed the metal capper and painstakingly tapped each cap onto the bottle with a small hammer. I normally seat the cap just hard enough to leave a slight ring indention in the center. Maybe that was too tight.

Red Baron Botle Capper Review by dwoodhou@sunyrockland.edu

(Posted on 11/24/10)

Product Rating:

As said below this is a good capper. It works well with the starter kit but if you want to go big into home brewing, you will want to upgrade to a bench capper. As you start out this is a great capper

Not too bad Review by Kyle

(Posted on 12/19/10)

Product Rating:

To be honest, you really just want to get a bench capper. You're not going to give up on brewing, and all the extra 5-10$ for a bench capper will reward itself after the first time you use it.

But if you're set on getting this one, it's not too bad. Simple, easy to use, cheap. After 50-100 bottles, you'll be glad you're done though.

Great for price Review by Jonathan

Cheap and works great. Will probably upgrade to a bench capper eventually, but this will get the job done until then and makes that less of a priority for a while.

Capping my first 14 bottles. Review by JnG Homebrew

(Posted on 2/20/11)

Product Rating:

For the first time ever using the capper, it worked great with the exception I had one bottle that it would not cap correctly and I had to reposition the capper it get a good seal. I would recommend this over the black beauty as it has a spring assist when releasing from the bottle.

After bottling one batch of brew i have been pleased with the performance of the device. Got the hang of it after I put on 3 or 4 caps and was good to go.
