Price Value Quality this was my second batch I made-the first was red dog ale- I had it 3wks in the glass carboy- and then into a keg, after 2 weeks conditioning, this brew was superb-
since we enjoy blue moon with an orange we did the same with this- BM is a Belgian type, this is Bavarian and you can tell the difference- I detected a slight spice and actually very slight butterscotch flavor in this- this is a nice change -if you're lucky to have more than one beer ready at a time.(Posted on 5/21/12)
- Great Beer! Review by Jerry

Price Value Quality I brewed this one a little over 5 weeks ago, and it turned out great! I lived in Germany for a few years, and this beer compares to the Hefeweizens I drank while I was over there. I will be brewing this beer again in the near future.

Price Value Quality This was my first homebrew kit from Midwest. I used the White Labs vial with it. Flavor and aroma where spot on. Lacked a little in body compared to an actual Bavarian Weissbier. Don't serve this one too cold, its best around 45-50 degrees.

- A Smash Hit amongst my friends Review by Joerg

Price Value Quality I brewed this beer as my exit from extract brewing.
It was filled into about 20 16oz EZ-Cap bottles and one 5l Party Keg.
The bottles went so fast, I didn't get much for myself.
Everybody loved the texture and also authentic taste of the beer.
The 5l keg got killed by two germans: A good friend and me.
We got a pretty good buzz on since it had 5.3% ABV but no hang-over the next day.
A huge success for an easy to brew beer.
Make sure you have the right glasses to pour it properly.(Posted on 11/13/11)
- Hacker Pschorr and Schneider Weisse had a Baby Review by Bavarian Brewer

Price Value Quality Well, if beers could mate, this taste like a 50/50 mix of Hacker Pschorr and Schneider Weisse.
Despite the rave reviews for Hank's Hefeweissen, I recommend this beer for those who want to expand their Weizen palate.(Posted on 6/6/11)

Price Value Quality This kit produced some great brew. It had a surprisingly red color and a good but light wheat flavor.

Price Value Quality I brewed this for two different Octoberfest parties, one hosted by an actual born/raised German. Despite a selection of 25+ very expensive beers, the true German drank nothing but my home brew and even hoarded it away from the guests.
Nuff said.(Posted on 1/8/11)

Value Quality Price This was my first brew and I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if this beer is just supposed to be bland. I tried them all the way up to six months and the taste changed but I never really cared for it so I ended up dumping it out to make room for hanks hefe weizen.

Price Value Quality This was a first brew attempt with my friends. Followed directions except for only hopping for about half of the time called for in the instructions. Primary- ~12 days with the standard dried yeast, Then bottled , with approx 2 gallons with watermelon flavor added. Carbonated for almost 5 weeks.
Beer was really good- full bodied, sweet (as in flavor), with little after hop flavor. After ~2 more weeks in bottles the regular brew is smooth in finish and still a nice drinking beer. Thinking it might be good with an orange slice, a la Blue Moon, for the added acidity.
The "Wheatermelon" as we called is was good at the 4 week mark if it was your first beer of the night or you drank it with a meal. After ~6 weeks, it has mellowed some and gotten smoother to drink. Most of the "after-taste" is gone now.
Overall a really superb first brew that most people will really like! I think the next time we brew, we might upgrade to a better yeast to try to see the difference in flavors. Also, thinking to boil the hops for approx 45 min (75 % per the instructions) for the added acidity and bitterness.(Posted on 8/7/10)
