I love this kit. Review by Millsy

I bought this strictly based on name and I wanted to make somethign light to drink. I had never had a Saison when I made it, so I had no point of refrence. I tried it as soon as it was ready and wasn't thrilled so it sat as I drank all my other beers. When I was pretty much down to just the Saison, I cracked one open and it was one of the best tasting beers I have made.

Since then I have made it two more times. It just nees to age... I actually have a kit ready right now that I am brewing this Thursday. I can't wait for it to be ready to drink.

Good summer beer Review by Beerman

I am a big fan of wheat beer and had tried the Boundary Waters Wheat, Belgian Witbier, Hank's Hefe, and Blone Ale looking for the perfect one. While I enjoyed each of those they weren't exactly what I was hoping for. I read some reviews on this site and opted to use only half the coriander and this batch came out great. I used the White Labs liquid yeast and it was an extremely active fermentation (I had to clean up the mess on two separate occasions as it came out of the airlock on my primary fermenter).

6+ abv, crisp, clean, citrusy taste. Medium bodied, great head, and wish i could find a cologne that smelled this good... Let it sit for 4 months or more for a great beer! ordering more right now!

too much spice Review by Harpdog

A nice looking beer, it fermented well, but I think there was just too much spice. I would cut the coriander to half of what the recipe calls for, maybe all the bitter orange or 3/4 of it, and the same for the grains of paradise.
As it was, I added everything, and there was just too much in the taste. Of course, it didn't keep me from drinking it all (!) but I was sort of glad to drain the last one.
Maybe saison is not my thing, I only tasted one other, so I'm not a good judge.

Tasty Review by Brewer

This is a tasty beer especially if you're looking for something different.. There is a bitter element that blends and fades to more fruity notes as it ages .. So let it age for a few months and it'll turn out great. The directions were followed though I transferred the specialty additions into the primary to sit for 7 days then transferred off of them into the secondary.. I gave it plenty of time here since it seamed a bit slow fermenting, this though gave me a bright crisp and clear beer..
Naturally carbonated in a 2.5 gallon keg and bottled the rest
Alc was 6-6.5% and you can really feel it..
My girlfriend picked it and I was skeptical at first especially before the flavors melded but after letting it rest for 3months it's tasty.

Been drinking mine for several weeks now. Just too much spice. I notice that the spice fades each week, but I kind of thought this was a beer with a quick turnaround. I'll probably let the rest sit for a while. I think I would cut the spices by half if I brewed it again. Maybe I'm just not a saison guy

I brewed this beer a couple of weeks ago and was pleased with the results. It is not as light as i had anticipated, but is still a good summer beer. ABV is only about 4% after 1 week fermantation and 2 weeks secondary.

Great Saison Review by TheStegg

This is a great saison! Dry, crisp, tart with a great mouthfeel excellent hop presence.

Primaried for 2 weeks at 72 degrees, then bottle conditioned for 2 weeks before first taste. Was very drinkable then, but got better with age. Just had another bottle last night, and after 4 months, it's one of the best beers I've ever had.

I think I'm going to do a another batch and dry hop it with Amarillo!
