I very much enjoy the flavor and drinkability of this lager. It was my first lager, but I am very happy with the outcome and will make this a part of my rotation. I did this without a temperature controller, so I was at the cooler end of lagering temperature range. Two thumbs up!!

Throw in a bottle of blackberry flavoring at bottling time and everyone will really like this one!

My first lager and even without having great control over the temperature, this beer came out fantastic. Great taste with the hint of caramel that you would expect and a nice medium body.

My second lager and 10th overall kit. Just used a small "dorm" fridge for temperature control. Tastes absolutely fantastic, best beer I've made. As with all the kits, liquid yeast is best.

I've used this kit a few different times now, experimenting with additional flavors (Cherry/Chocolate and Vanilla/Chocolate are my favorites) and even though I can't really control the temperature very well this has come out extraordinarily good on each occasion.

This was the first beer that I ever brewed, and the experienced home brewer could tell you that lagers are not generally for beginners. However, I'd have to say I was pretty satisfied with the results & would recommend this kit.

Can't wait to try this kit. I have a feeling it's going to bring me back to the days I spent in the black forest drinking Kulbacher and eating like a pig.

I've never had a dark lagger, and bought this on a whim. Nice taste, not quite what I had expected.
For lagger beers you DO have to pay attention to temperature. Your beer will lack the crisp lagger flavor otherwise.

Tastes good, by why darken it

I do like this beer and I'd gladly drink it again. But its kind of a gimmick, darkened with Sinamar (that doesn't have an acrid taste). Its the same as a regular (non dark) lagger.
If I make it again, I may experiment with the specialty grains, especially the Melanoidin.

I actually was given this kit as a birthday present and it turned out really nice. Nice enough I ordered it again myself and currently have it in secondary.
First time I brewed I left it in primary 1 week, 6 weeks secondary @ 37 degrees, primed for 2 weeks. Turned out really good. This time around I am gonna try to be more patient and leave it in secondary for the full 12 weeks.
