Good, but not sure "IPA" is accurate.

Overall a tasty, excellent quality brew. However, no where near as "hoppy" as other IPA's I've had. Bottom line - it's hard to go wrong with any Midwest brew kit.

Consistently a great brew and excellent value.

I have brewed this beer with both the dry yeast and Wyeast Propagator ( used as a starter). It has never failed to satisfy. I love IPA's and have my own hop garden in the backyard. This is clearly an IPA that can be served without hesitation - even to a hop head. Enjoy - you can't go wrong with this one.

I have brewed 4 different IPA's from Midwest, and this was my favorite of all. Although it is not as hoppy as others, this beer is very smooth and has a great after taste, almost a pine needle finish. Highly reccomended!!

We had a small competition between friends, and we each brought a couple of different brews we cooked up. At the last minute, I found a six pack of this IPA I brewed almost a year earlier. It was stored in the basement at a perfect temp. Of course, it wins hands down. I couldn't believe it, but when I finally tasted it, it was awesome. The longer you can cellar this beer, the better it will get.

This is a near ideal beer for aging. I have had two separate batches in the cellar for quite some time now. The roundness of the malt in this brew is wonderfully balanced with the tangy, citrus of the Simcoe hop. At six months this Ale is ready to drink and at 12-14 months is develops into an ethereal quaff.

This ale can make the most novice homebrewer look like a master. Thanks to the other reviews, I did cheat a bit by dry hopping an extra ounce in the secondary. Great flavor, decent gravity, and a smooth finish! Good way to kick off the new keg setup.

Need another kit of this!

Just tapped my keg of this a few hours ago, and this is just an incredible beer. My SG progress was 1.061->1.010 after three weeks and it has great flavor with a decent kick. I also cheated by dry hopping with 1oz of simcoe for 7 days. The beer is really close taste-wise to Smuttynose IPA. In fact I'm curious to try adding some Amarillo next time.
Just a great IPA. Try it, brew it, love it!

This was the beer my friend brewed to introduce me to homebrewing. I've since brewed this three more times. Past two times I switched to (almost) all grain by replacing much of the extract with base malt. It's always been a winner, and my friends are always begging for more! Brewing this weekend, and am going to add the dry hopping -- it's great without but am really interested to see how much aroma can be added with the dry hop.

Great beer, just not IPA-enough for me

This beer tastes great. It might be the perfect beer for someone who wants to expand their taste palate to heavier beers. However, for me, it lacked the true nature of an IPA with the dense, deep hop characteristics. Bottom line: If you or your friends need a gateway IPA this is a GREAT option for you, otherwise try Hop Head IPA...brewed it up with 7.7% ABV and WOW is it packed with hop flavor. THANKS MIDWEST!

I just tasted this after placing it in the keg system yesterday. This turned out great! If you like IPA's you will like this one. I will brew this one again. The ABV is 6.5 % . I will be bottling a few to take to the family of home brewers and beer lovers for Thanks Giving.
