Nice but needs some directions Review by Chris M

(Posted on 2/19/14)

Product Rating:

I got this a couple weeks ago and have used it twice now. Once for a 5 gallon batch and once for a small 1.5 gallon batch. It worked great both time and I can't wait to get a lot of use out of it.

My only issue is that there isn't any directions on how and what to disassemble for best cleaning. Not sure if I need to undo all the connections and hose clamps to remove the false bottom or if there is some easier way to clean it out.

But despite that it is a great unit.

Best value out there Review by Huber

Product Rating:

I shopped around and this is the best equipment for the price. I can make any 5 gallon beer including a Barley wine, and can make most 10 gallon beers. It holds temperature well, losing a degree during a 60 minute mash.

Great Value Review by Harbor Brewing

Product Rating:

A must have for a growing home brewer! Used in the garage on Superbowl Sunday in 12 degree temps and held 152 for the full 60 minute mash. Has helped to take my brewing to the next level!

Great system Review by Sample

Product Rating:

It can handle a lot of grain for a high gravity 5 gallon batch or a good sized 0 gallon batch. It's unlikely you will need anything bigger than this. It hold the temperature and has a good false bottom.

Easy switch to Mash Tun from BIAB Review by MikeyP

(Posted on 10/26/13)

Product Rating:

For a long while I planned to put a mash tun like this together myself starting at the hardware store, but the relative costs, scarcity of parts, and labor didn't make sense so I finally broke down and ordered this one. Works great! Just started drinking my first batch and the flavor difference and efficiency from BIAB is remarkable. Highly recommended.

Nice Mash Tun! Review by Yorimasa

Product Rating:

I love this thing. I spent a lot of time trying to find the cheapest parts with the intention of building my own. After a few months I broke down and bought this beauty. I’m glad I did the build quality is superb, all the seals are perfect. Maybe I could have saved $10 if I built my own but why waste a weekend going back and forth to the hardware store. Also when I called on the phone they were able to upgrade it to all stainless for about $30.

Can make 10 gallon brews Review by Nadim

(Posted on 9/3/13)

Product Rating:

I've used it to make 10 gallon brews, and for making 5 gallon Barley wines. Its big enough for both, which is not true of the smaller versions. This is the version you should buy, even if it costs a little more. This one will last you forever.

Great way to start all grain brewing Review by AleGuy

(Posted on 9/2/13)

Product Rating:

I have used the 10 gal mash tun for more than five years. made dozens and dozens of good beers. Very low cost way to get into all grain brewing and even if you upgrade equipment later (like I did), you can still use this to make two batches at the same time!

Can handle big brews Review by Andrew

(Posted on 8/14/13)

Product Rating:

This can handle a 5 gallon barley wine grain bill as well as 10 gallon batch of a normal gravity brew. For my needs it's perfect. Its a good price, holds a lot, doesn't lose heat, and has good components. I endorse this over the 5 gallon tun, because you have room to make batches other than 5 gallon regular strength beer.

Good mash tun Review by Ortona

(Posted on 7/11/13)

Product Rating:

This is the ultimate all grain mash tun. It holds temperature well, and the false bottom works well. Plus the ball valve works well. No complains at all.
Before using it I prefill it with hot water, to warm it up, so it doesn't lower the temperature of the mash.
