Fantastic beer. I have made this kit several times. Sampled next to the purchased Summit, friends and family all think this kit tastes better than the Summit. Very full flavor, not over the top hoppy but a nice balance. If you like Summit you won't be disappointed with this kit.

I have to say, this one was just terrific and I'm thrilled to be buying it again. Very smooth, not bitter, not too hoppy. I put this out for a gathering of non-homebrew drinkers and to my shock they bypassed everything commercial and flat cleaned me out.

Amazing brew! Better then the original. I grew up drinking Summit in Minnesota, but I can't find it in Oregon so this kit makes it possible for me to enjoy Summit EPA all year long. I can't wait to order it again.

First brew ever made. Wanted a good baseline to compare against which is why I picked this kit as I love Summit EPA and know what it is suppose to taste like. 2 weeks in primary, 3 weeks in bottle. Great hop nose with the expected EPA bite that is nicely balanced out with a malty finish. When chilled the hops take the forefront; when served less chilled it tends to be more malty. All my beer snob friends were genuinely impressed. Great introduction to homebrewing and I now have the confidence to continue with the hobby and brew any style I desire!

This was a great extract kit. Brewed this beer and tried it side by side with a store bought Summit and the extract won! The beer is spot on to the original but has a fresher, fuller flavor.

Perfectly Passable Pale Ale

This is a great pale ale kit. I gave it a 4/5 in quality because I grew up drinking Summit Pale Ale and this one wasn't quite right to my buds. In all fairness, though, I'm still a noob when it comes to the home brewing so I may have had some issues. Like drinking it all before it was mature enough. Tasty pale ale nonetheless just not the same...

Easy way to improve flavors

This is one of my favorite beers. I’ve found that placing this beer in a cold location 2-3 days before kegging helps it fine/clear, which greatly improves the flavors. Be sure to let it finish fermenting first.

Smoothe Pale Ale

This turned out to be a very smoothe Pale Ale. This isn't quite a perfect clone of the Summit EPA, but it's very tastey nonetheless. By only using 1/2 oz of Horizon bittering hops, the flavor and aroma hops as well as the malt come out a lot more than the normal bitterness of a Pale Ale. This makes it a much smoother pale ale than most American PAs and lets the malt profile show through.
I left this in primary for 8 days, secondary for 17 days, and bottle conditioned for another 18 days. I don't think that I pulled enough yeast into the bottling bucket so there is very little carbonation and therefore little head when compared to several of the other kits. It's as smoothe and malty as Octane IPA at a touch lower ABV at 5.25%.
Great balanced American Pale Ale. You can't go wrong with this one. Not too bitter, not too malty, not too sweet. Perfect for my expectation of a great homebrew.

As someone who has a lot of friends who drink Summit, I can say this has been a hit many times over. I typically have a keg in the Keezer, and one in firmenting... Always a good one to have ready, while you experiement with others...
