it degassed the wine great --- it also left little pieces of plastic in the wine ---- the wine theif couldnt filter these pieces of white plastic out so they are now floating in my finished bottles --- i guess i could use a strainer when pouring my 9 month in the works wine.

I used this for the first time tonight and there are pieces of plastic in my wine now. Go ahead and get the stainless steel degasser. Crap!!!

The first time I used it my wine was full of rubbery plastic. I took the cap off, threw it away, put the whip in a drill and have had no problems. Make sure that you have the carboy in a tub or sink in case you get carried away and cause a wine volcano.

I did a couple of gallons of wine with it, no problems of plastic pieces.... But after reading the other reviews, I just took the rubber stopper off and use the plastic stirrer and it works great, both for degassing AND stirring ingredients in the primary.

Awesome product for the price, i just took off the bung that cam with it after reading the other reviews...other than that, it works like a charm.

Expensive but effective in stirring and whipping the Co2 to the surface. The sooner you loose the bung the happier you will be.

Not much to say, this thing works pretty well. I do wish it had a bit longer shank.

Be careful, if you have a lot of dissolved gases you'll want to use this gently or it'll start spewing foam out of your carboy.

Second time using it, think it makes the job of degassing a heck of alot easier. I agree with all of the other reviewers, in saying just get rid of the bung. Not a bad product for the price.
