I have gotten consistent rave reviews about this beer. Drinkers have commented that it has a complex flavor with hints of chocolate or espresso. Several Guinness Stout lovers have told me they would rather drink this beer. Most importantly, my wife and my boss's wife love this beer!

I bought this thinking that if it even made a half decent beer it was well worth it, since the price competes with Miller High Life and Bush. This beer turned out AWESOME! It tastes better than many stouts I've had. It's thick, malty, well balanced, and has a nice thick head. A few of my friends who don't even like stouts were asking me for seconds and thirds! I plan to keep this one in stock often. You can't go wrong with this kit!

I have brewed this 5-6 times with great consistency. I added 1/4 cup of freshly ground bean coffee to the fermenting and WOW! that is a tastee beer!

Tried others like Coopers but this is the best easy kit for a stout I've had. As someone stated before even the non-stout friends (and stout drinking friends as well) like this one. Comparable more to Guinness Extra Stout. Has a nice dry finish with almost a mild espresso type flavor.

Ironically I was making stout using the very same ingredients, procedure and brand of malt as in this kit, but using Hallertauer rather than Nugget hops. So when browsing one day I ran across this kit and realized that these guys obviously are brewers and that was when I placed my first order with Midwest Supplies, and have been with them ever since. Mike has a great idea, think I'll try using Jamaican Blue Mt. Blend Coffee in the ferment and maybe just a hint of malto-dextrine in the next batch. Customer Service has been great with this place as well. "Easy to make great stout and for an unbeatable price!"

I primaried for 10 days, secondary for 7 days, carbed for 4, and conditioned for 3 and man was I impressed. Beautiful head, great smell and tastes alot like guiness. I set 12 22oz aside for a few months and I can only imagine how good they will taste. I'd definatly buy this kit again

I found out you cant make a Black and Blue with this, But if i really want one i can just got get a 6 of Guiness and a 6 of Blue moon. I still would strongly advise people to try this one tho. The Black and Blue is such a non issue with me i have already got another kit of this.

I have to admit it, this one really surprised me.how well it turned out and with so little effort. I used it as a way of helping a friend into the world of homebrewing. Wow, did it ever deliver! And we have another convert to the world of zymurgy, hee hee.
