A lot of the original series Selection kits produce tasty, fruity wine, and this is one of them. I like it. I had it for dinner tonight (with a spicy middle-eastern entree). Some of the kits in this series really need the full six months to develop. (The Zinfandels, for example.) The wine we drank tonight was less than three months in the bottle, and delicious.
It doesn't get five stars because it's light on tannins. But all of these kits are.
Bottom line, though: I'm buying another one tonight.

Cal and I have made this wine 6 times. We ferment with 6ozs French oak, and add 8-10ozs of same in secondary. This like the Pinot Grigio kit is very drinkable at bottling as by the fact that we drink a bottles worth while bottling. This is a very smooth, great tasting Red that is truly better than commercial wines! We've impressed a few wine snobs with this wine time and time again!!

The Selection kits are excellent, and this is no exception. Complex and full of character, a very good flavor.

I've just started the process of making this wine and am on step 3. Everything is going well and I would expect another great wine from Midwest!

Maybe a little light on the tannins but it's still a good red. A nice complex flavor and aroma. I will buy more kits form this series.
