An accurate clone Review by Millburn

Product Rating:

The kit is close clone to the real thing. My friends and I compared it side by side to the real beer. Mine wasn't quite as bitter and they liked the Midwest kit better.

Friends drank up all my beer Review by Koosman

I made this beer during the fall, kegged it, and forgot about it for a few months.
I put it on tap and my friends went to town on it and it half gone. I can safely say it was well liked.

Fantastic Watneys Clone Review by Mike

(Posted on 2/16/14)

Product Rating:

This is a wonderful smooth and easy to drink cream stout. It is dead on how I remember Watneys tasting.

I left it in the primary and secondary each for 2 weeks then in the bottles for a minimum of 2 additional weeks. 3-4 weeks made it even better.

I'm brewing my second batch today!

great base Review by DanP

Product Rating:

Used this as a base stout, and split my batch into two.

I made to make a smoked cherry stout, using cherry extract with wood chips from here and turned out well.

The other batch I made a chocolate peanut butter stout using cocoa and peanut butter powder and that turned out fantastic

The best black & tan I ever made or drank. Review by Chief

Product Rating:

Watknees Cream Stout is better than anything I've had the pleasure of drinking or brewing in a stout beer. Even Guiness pales in comparison. Although it is not for every palet, for those of us who enjoy a really great stout beer while hunting, camping, enjoying the outdoors, or just plain have a taste for a good stout this is the Stout of choice for me. I would highly recommend you try this great brew kit.

This is a good beer kit. Dark but kind of sweet. Not bitter from hops...a well balanced stout.

Wow....this is a very close clone to the real thing. Friends in my group compared side by side to the real seal. They liked MW kit BETTER! Not quite as bitter as the real thing...and they liked it! Will buy again!

A Must Try Review by Lauren B

Product Rating:

This was the first beer I ever brewed and I felt like it came out well. It is surprisingly light and refreshing. The carbonation levels is perfect and I enjoyed drinking this on hot summer days more than the cooler spring days.

Not bad, but probably wont brew again Review by Rob

Product Rating:

I would just go with the regular midwest cream stout. The maltose in Watknee's as opposed to lactose seemed strange to me. Beer was very smooth and full bodied but had a bit of a strange taste to me. ( I would assume from the maltose). I made this beer for a family dinner and I wish I made a different style. It's a good beer for having one or two after work, but I wouldn't brew this for a picnic. Fills you up very fast!

Pretty good, but I probably wouldn't brew it twice Review by Rob

Product Rating:

Friends liked it but it tasted strange to me. To me the additional unfermentable sugars just leave a bit of an odd taste. It's a great beer if you are in the mood for one or two after work, but definitely not the right style for a picnic. Fairly full bodied and smooth, but it filled me up too fast.
