Weldless Thermabob Adapter

I bought this to use with the Blichmann Thermometer I ordered here too. The washer doesn't fit the thermometer....it's too small to go over the treads, rendering the entire unit useless. That, and the fact it was left out of my original order, makes an unsatisfied customer. I'm happy I'm not out much money, and I'm sure I'll be able to drill out the washer, but that wasn't on the plan when I ordered it.

I bought this kit after reading the other review hoping that Midwest had gotten their act together and corrected the size of the washer. They didn't. I was able to make this work by getting a 1/2" stainless steel washer from Home Depot, but that certainly wasn't what I was hoping for. The thermometer I ordered was this one: http://www.midwestsupplies.com/thermometer-3-dial-with-2-stainless-probe.html. It's the standard 1/2" NPT fitting and should be easy to fit with a 1/2" washer. Why Midwest is selling an off size washer is beyond me.

If you really want to use this kit just buy the parts separately.

That'll only set you back $6. Meaning Midwest is charging $2.50 for a washer that doesn't fit (the Home Depot washer cost me $0.60).

I thought the washer has a little bit more "slop" in it that I would have liked, especially for the price. Looks like in the past the washer was too small. But, I had no problems at all using this to install my new 1/2 NPT thermometer....so don't worry - it will fit.

I had no problems with it not fitting. It fit my 1/2 NPT thermometer fine. The cost is more than I expected, but I had no choice.

This fit my Brewmometer fine, it didn't leak. I wish it cost less but I needed it.

I used it to attach a 1/2" NPT thermometer to my Hot Liquor Kettle. I used a step bit and drilled the hole, followed the directions and attached the thermometer. No leaks.

It fit for me, the only knock on it is the price, but it worked fine. No leaks. I was able to attach the brewmometer without difficulty.
