Whirlfloc Tablets are an enhanced blend of Irish Moss and purified carrageenan that aids in the coagulation and settling of haze-producing proteins and beta glucans. Use one tablet per 10 gallon batch (For 5 gallon batches, cut a tablet in half. Adding a whole tablet won't really gain you anything), and add it with 5 minutes remaining in the boil. Yes, 5 minutes is correct. According to the manufacturer, if Whirlfloc is in the boil for any longer than 10 minutes, the active ingredients become denatured and therefore will not do their job. Size:10 tablets.

I have used these tablets in my last three batches, and have noticed very obvious settling and haze reduction. I used a whole tablet for each batch. I will try half a tablet in the future (as others have) and see how well that works.

This is one of those "see it to believe it" products. Crush the tablet, put it in, and watch it go to work - for the price, there is no reason not to give it a go. Wort was transferred to the primary clearer than it typically would be!

When I crush up the tablet and throw it in I see the instant results. The wort begins to clear, and when I pitch the yeast it's already less murky. At bottling time is when you really notice how good a job it does.

Take half a tablet and crush it with your hand then sprinkle it in at the last 5 minutes of the boil. You can see the break material form and sink. When you chill it drops right out to the bottom of your kettle.

I crush up half a tablet and spread in the dust and watch it instantly bind to the proteins and sink to the bottom and into what will become the cold break. It helps the beers clarity for sure because I forgot to use it one time and the beer was cloudier.

Always used Irish moss in my boils without seeing much of a difference. I recently used one of these and could definitely tell a difference both right in the boil and while transferring to my primary.

I crumble it into dust and dump it in during the last 5 minutes and it instantly causes the proteins to clump and settle. The bag is good for 20 uses.

My beer is less hazy now that I'm using whirlfloc on a regular basis. That and letting the beer sit in the fermentor for a month are the keys to my beer being more clear.

I see the clumps of proteins forming and sinking when I add the Whirlfloc. I don't know if this makes my final beer clearer, but it helps in the boil. I add it during the last 5 minutes. I read that you can use half a tablet, so that's what I do.
