Very nice bottles. All of mine have a melting line in the middle, but it's not too bad. Very nice for the first batch or two. I would recommend these to a friend to start with.

Good Deal On Bottles

For years I have dreamed of making some mead. A few years ago, I planted blackberries, and vowed that when I got my first good crop, I would make a batch of blackberry mead. I found a good source of raw honey, and just needed the gear. I shopped around, and many brewers suggested Midwest as their preferred supplier, so I checked them out. For a good starter kit, Midwest offered the best price for the most and best equipment in this kit. I ordered the kit and my other supplies, and was not disappointed. The kit arrived with a broken airlock, but that was the fault of the manufacturer, and not Midwest Supply. I contacted Midwest, and they expedited not one but two airlocks out to me. The folks at Midwest are nice to deal with, and best of all, their selection and prices can't be beat. Some sellers offer free shipping, but then charge more for the item, so the shipping isn't really free. I'm already pondering making a batch of hard cider or maybe a grape wine, and may soon order more from Midwest. I ordered 3 cases of these bottles, and they all arrived in perfect condition. As the other reviewer mentioned, there is a line in the middle of the bottle where they were made, but at this point, I was more focused on economy than cosmetics. A label should hide that line somewhat, and I care more about what is in the bottle than the bottle itself.

The clear and the green bottles cork at the same depth! The BLUE Claret/Bordeaux bottles do NOT cork to the same depth! The bottles all function 100% fine, but this is something to consider. Read my review on the blue bottles of the same type!

These bottles are great! I bottled my Strawberry White Merlot in them, and the finished product was gorgeous. I would definitely recommend these bottles.

Overall quality is great. Just bottled some cranberry wine and the wine looks great in the clear bottles.

I used a couple cases of these to package a Reisling kit that I made a little while back. They have a good weight to them, unlike some of the flimsier commercial bottles I had tried to salvage used from friends and family. Much cleaner as well. Bottled and corked nicely, no breakage problems. And a good value compared to prices I've seen elsewhere.

These are great bottles. Get consistent seating depth, seals well, have had some wine stored for several years with premium corks with no issues other than getting better with age. Also nice having a good storage box!
