Very good summer red Review by Kelleyaynn

(Posted on 10/25/09)

Product Rating:

I made this wine last year and everyone who tried it loved it. It was a nice summer wine - slightly chilled, it is good for when you just don't want another white wine in the summer. Not too heavy for hot weather.

In the summer, yes Review by WinesmithPress

Product Rating:

I'm still drinking this from 2009. It grows better very slowly, but it is a bit light bodied for my taste. Better on a sunny summer afternoon than a cold December night. Even lighter bodied than the Beaujolais Nouveau I used to buy. I prefer heavier bodied wines generally, but this stuff is great with a cheese and fruit tray on the deck.

Good chilled red Review by ek080296

Product Rating:

I had read the previous reviews and thought this would be a good wine to sit with at the pool this summer. It definitely was a great chilled red to have outside. It has a light enough body for a warm weather wine, but still good with a salad for dinner.

MY WIFE LIKES IT Review by Richard

(Posted on 12/30/10)

Product Rating:

Made this last spring and was surprised by it's fruitiness. Was great on nice summer evenings and even the late fall coming home and opening a bottle when a robust wine was to heavy. the best thing is my wife likes it.

Great wine, goofy O.G. Review by Jake

(Posted on 2/3/12)

Product Rating:

I have made this kit twice. Checked the starting gravity both times and despite having the right volume of 6 gallons and correcting for temp the original gravity was 1.050 on both batches. Thought something was goofy with my hydrometer the first time so rechecked with my refractometer and confirmed that the gravity was low. I added sugar to bring the gravity up to 1.080 and the wine turned out great.

I would recommend this kit just make sure you check the gravity and correct if needed.

9 month update Review by jake

Posted a review earlier regarding this kit. Now 9 months out from bottling and the wine continues to improve. If you are a fan of commercial examples of this wine than you will not be disappointed. It was great right after bottling and continues to get better with time.

Surprising fruitiness, this is a great wine when chilled.
I still have bottles from 2010, and they are even better now.

Good light wine. Sip it chilled in the summer. It's good value for the money, and I will make it again next summer.

Light bodied, and fruity. I agree this is a summer wine, sipped chilled at the pool.
