DetailsThe 10" Stainless Steel False Bottom fits our 10 gallon Rubbermaid coolers (loosely). Very easy to remove from the 10 Gallon cooler for cleaning, but this false bottom will not cover the entire bottom of the cooler, which is fine because the false bottom is domed. If you prefer a tight fit in your cooler, use the 12" false bottom instead. False bottoms are used to convert coolers or plastic buckets into mash/ lauter tuns. Constructed from 304 stainless steel these false bottom's will not float. Dome height is 1/2" for the 9", 10" ,and 12" diameter false bottoms. Comes with a 3/8" barbed 90° stainless steel elbow hose fitting in the center to draw the wort from beneath the dome. Made from stainless steel with 3/32 perforated holes on 5/32 centers. The barb fitting is 3/8 inch.

4.5 / 5.08 ReviewsVery SatisfiedI purchased this for my 10 Gallon Rubbermaid (Standard Orange Cooler) and it has not failed yet. Very happy and took the suggestion on the size from the Midwest Associate based on my cooler.March 19, 2013it worksGood product. Never had a problem. However, I do not make wheat beers, which may be an issue.May 14, 2013Works great - check size.I have this product, and it worked great. Make sure you check the proper size for your cooler/pot, especially when fitting to off-brand coolers or equipment.May 30, 2013Probably the best thing I bought so far.Just did my first all grain batch with it. Worked great and never clogged on me. Fit perfect into my 10 gallon igloo. Could have gone with 12" but the price was to good at the 10".August 17, 2013Works but be carefulIt's easy to get a stuck sparge so be careful with your mash paddle and use and extra layer of rice hulls. With those two precautions the false bottom works._x000D_January 7, 2014Works WellI bought the 10" because it seemed like the best value. I am happy with the flow rate I am getting and the filter bed was built up quickly with this false bottom. The downside of the small size is that it moves around in the bottom so you have to be careful with the paddle.January 24, 2013stuck sparges galoreI have had a stuck sparge with this almost every time. I have used Midwest ground grain and done it myself with the same results. I have even poured out the mash and just poured the wort back in and it doesn't want to drain. Oddly, it does room temp water ok. Seems anything hot will not come out.December 21, 201210" Stainless Steel False Bottom -- ReviewThis bottom easily fit in my 10 gallon mash tun and it was relatively easy to connect to the adaptor. However, since it is only 10 inches in diameter and the cooler is more than 13 inches in diameter, there is a lot of surface area surrounding the false bottom. If i were to order another one, i would pay the additional money to get the 12 inch false bottom. The larger bottom would be a tight squeeze, but I feel that you would get a better result. Lesson learned...January 2, 2014

Browse 1 question Browse 1 question and 1 answermy mash tun is a 5 gal round cooler just over 10 inches in diameter, and the ball valve sticks in about an inch and a half. Will I be able to get this under the ball valve?BEST ANSWER: Hi Dylan,
This should fit, but it's going to depend on the height of your ball valve. If you'd like to send us an email with the height of your ball valve, we can check to make sure it will fit.
