4.6 / 5.012 ReviewsElegant BottlesThese bottles add some class to your home brew. However, sometimes they do not seal well. I highly recommend replacing the washer-like gaskets with high-pressure Grolsch gaskets. The better gaskets resemble little "hats" rather than "washers" so there is less opportunity to leak away the CO2 that you want for a little bit of fizz. Also, the high-pressure gaskets are thicker so they make a better seal. You can find the high-pressure Grolsch gaskets on the web. I would have given these bottles 5 stars if they came with these gaskets. Happy brewing.July 11, 2019Purchased
5 months agoI love these but don't loan them outI do not give people cider in these anymore because they don't come back. I use them for your entertaining at home and that's it.... unless I want to keep buying them.March 5, 2019Purchased

1 year agobeautiful but 33% failure rate on first useBought two cases and in the first use I have 4 out of the first twelve opened failing to carbonate. Since sugar was added to bottling bucket, I know all the beer had the same chance. I have used a variety of EZ cap products, including one liter cobalt and 32 oz clear, and never had new products seal so poorly. Heck, even with my recycled Grolsch- on I don't even know how many reuses- I maybe lose one beer out of 48 to needing a new gasket. Would not buy again as they feel quite tight when closing but are just not sealing.March 19, 2018Purchased

over 3 years ago5 starrgreat seal Until you learn, a little tough to get on.. But makes a great sealJuly 31, 2016Groelsh style flip cap blue bottleI bottled my beer with these bottles about 3 weeks ago for conditioning. They worked great, held the pressure with no leaks. The bottles and flip caps all appear to be good quality. I will say they are a little expensive. As I recall, the bottle cost about $3 a piece. I guess if you amortize these over the number of batches I'll bottle in the coming years, it's not bad, but in the future, I plan to use regular bottles with crimped caps to reduce costs.March 23, 2016

Browse 7 questions Browse 7 questions and 23 answersWhere are they manufactured? How tall are these bottles? Are they the same height as a standard beer bottle? Also, do the swing caps come attached to the bottles or do you have to attach them yourself?BEST ANSWER: If you are into cobalt glass, you will love these bottles. They are the same size as a standard beer bottle, slightly shorter than a long neck bottle. The swing caps need to be attached but it is not a problem. They pretty much snap right on. After you do one, you can do the rest of the case in less than 5 minutes. Are the tops made of ceramic, or plastic?BEST ANSWER: The tops are made out of plastic with a rubber gasket. I have used them for 2 rounds of brewing and I could not be happier with how well they seal.Want to verify blue colored and not blue sprayed thus dw safe?BEST ANSWER: The ones I purchased 4 years ago are blue colored. I've run them through the dishwasher more times than I can count and never had an issue. Is there a reason these should not be used for wine or kombucha?BEST ANSWER: Great question. These bottles would work perfect for wine and kombucha, as well as beer. In fact, I can't think of a beverage that they wouldn't work for! Cheers!Does the swing-cap's come with the bottles ???BEST ANSWER: Yes.What is the lead content in blue colored bottles? What do they contain besides glass?BEST ANSWER: From the manufacturer:
"Soda Lime Silica glass. The batch materials are about 50% cullet (recycled glass), though this can vary depending on available cullet amount. The other half is raw materials, and is broken down like such:
Silica: 65% of Batch
Soda Ash: 22% of Batch
Limestone: 13% of Batch
Every manufacturer uses the same basic materials, they may vary a small percent in their exact mix, but it will essentially be that proportion"
