1 year agoNice for SpargeThis is nice tubing to use for sparge and vorlauf as it's clear and you can easily see the liquid being transferred.January 28, 2014Perfect for mash tunI converted a chest cooler to a mash tun and this worked perfect for it. This is braided, despite the picture or the description not mentioning it. Also, the description rates this up to 214 degrees but the tubing itself is printed with Max temp 140 so I would go with the silicone tubing if your'e thinking of transferring boiling wort. I got it to transfer sweet wort from the mash tun at around 152 degrees and for that it's perfect.January 27, 2014

Browse 3 questions Browse 3 questions and 8 answersWill this tubing give a plastic or rubbery taste to the beer if I use it to chill the hot wort?BEST ANSWER: I use the high temp tubing to transfer hot wort from my DIY mash tun to my kettle and I haven’t noticed any plastic or rubbery flavors in my finished product.
That being said, I’ve never used it to chill hot wort. It’s possible that the longer the tubing is exposed to high temps the higher the possibility of off flavors, but you’d be better off chilling your wort with a stainless steel or copper immersion wort chiller.

Or will I need to use 7/16?3/8" High Temp TubingBEST ANSWER: I use both 3/8 and 1/2 ID thermoplastic tubing with these QDs; no problems getting a good fit or seal. Use a good hose clamp and you shouldn't have any issues at all.
