DetailsThis is the 6.5 gallon fermenter that comes with all of our homebrewing equipment kits, except this fermenter does NOT come with a lid. Gallons are marked on the side of this food grade fermenter to make it easy to know how much liquid is in the fermenter. You could also use this bucket for sanitizing all of your equipment.

1 year agoPut Two Together and the Measurements Don't MatchThe bucket is okay, but the measurements on the side are not necessarily good. I have two and the gallon measurements are there is a quarter inch difference between the two. I calibrated them and one is correct, the other is off. These measurements are important! Also, neither one is air tight like the others I have, so I see no airlock action which is frustrating.August 13, 2013Great to use as a sterilizing bucketI've changed my fermenting over to all glass for fermenting. I use the 6.5 gallon bucket now as a sterilizing bucket. Fill it with water and sanitizer and you're good to go with a brew day. It will comfortably fit all of the smaller parts in a brew day.November 2, 2010Better than a CarboyVery easy to clean._x000D_Convenient to use (although prying off the lid is a bit tedious)._x000D_Lots of head space to prevent yeast from overflowing._x000D_Compact size, easy to carry._x000D__x000D_These are ideal for their purpose._x000D_October 17, 2012Great ValueThese buckets work great. They are the perfect size for a 5 gallon brew, they clean easily and I have never got an off taste from one of these. Plus they are cheap.November 14, 2012A must have!A must have for any of your beer or wine making endeavors. Even if you just start your fermentation in this bucket, then move on to a carboy, the ease of a large bucket cannot be beat. I even start my half and 1 gallon test batches in here, then transfer. You will probably get one in your initial kit, but if you plan to have multiple projects going at once, get an extra one or two.November 26, 2012Exactly what you expectA good large bucket for either sanitizing or fermenting. It's always good to have an extra one of these around.January 29, 2013good producta very good product, built very good, will last for a long time.March 24, 2016Great for starting outThe plastic bucket is a great way to start out brewing if you don't want to invest in the carboy early on. The bucket also makes aeration prior to pitching the yeast easy.February 5, 2013Great Value - Must HaveI purchased a few extra buckets before joining the kit of the month club. They have come in handy to always have something fermenting. Great value and always useful.March 1, 2013
