over 2 years agoFilter ScreenSimple. Easy to use. Works. No stems and seeds you don't need get through this. I have used it in a pinch to replace the false bottom of my lauter tun . No problems. Recommend applying a light coat of silicone (not petroleum) lube on the outer surface of the filter insert, and inner surface of the 2 O-rings in the kettle ball-valve. Easily done with a Q-tip. over 2 years agoWorks great!I have an 8 gal. Megapot, and instead of the expensive FB I decided on this boil screen. I used it once thus far, but it worked very well, and after running off a gallon or so of the wort I was able to filter out most of the grains. After the boil/cooling, I ran the cooled wort into the fermenter (via the spigot) and most, if not all of, the hops were "filtered" out. I did not have an issue with a stuck sparge, but I suppose it could happen if you drain the wort too quickly.February 2, 2017Purchased

Just used it today for the first time, and I'm amazed. I equipped it in one of the standard 15 gallon brew pots, and had a total of 5 lbs crushed grain, and another 5 lbs of pumpkin meat, not from a can, but cooked and hand mashed. Everything filtered perfectly, even with the screen being completely covered by the grain/pumpkin mixture.
