Great filter. Screwed it into the inside of my boil kettle valve and it has made my life so much easier!

WORKS Great.
I just slid it on the original spicket inside a 5 gallon igloo cooler and it works great.

Filter Screen
Simple. Easy to use. Works. No stems and seeds you don't need get through this. I have used it in a pinch to replace the false bottom of my lauter tun . No problems. Recommend applying a light coat of silicone (not petroleum) lube on the outer surface of the filter insert, and inner surface of the 2 O-rings in the kettle ball-valve. Easily done with a Q-tip. Prevents steel from nicking the rubber + extends O-ring life. docfroh

Works great!
I have an 8 gal. Megapot, and instead of the expensive FB I decided on this boil screen. I used it once thus far, but it worked very well, and after running off a gallon or so of the wort I was able to filter out most of the grains. After the boil/cooling, I ran the cooled wort into the fermenter (via the spigot) and most, if not all of, the hops were "filtered" out. I did not have an issue with a stuck sparge, but I suppose it could happen if you drain the wort too quickly.

Quality kettle screen
Perfect size for a 5 gal converted cooler mash tun.

So I purchased this item awhile back to put me into free shipping territory. Just used it today for the first time, and I'm amazed. I equipped it in one of the standard 15 gallon brew pots, and had a total of 5 lbs crushed grain, and another 5 lbs of pumpkin meat, not from a can, but cooked and hand mashed. Everything filtered perfectly, even with the screen being completely covered by the grain/pumpkin mixture. Totally worth it's price, even if it never worked again.

Stuck sparges are not fun
I've used this for two all grain batches and I am giving it away to an extract brewer because it gets clogged every five mins. and completely screw up my brew schedule plus the temp loss. I am going back to the home-made false bottom I used before, never had a stuck sparge with it.

Nice Screen
This is a good part. Very sturdy, easy to install, does the job well. Has trouble with pelleted hops.

Not good for boil screen
I used this in a polar-ware 10 gallon pot as a hop filter. Did not go long w/o clogging. I did whirlpool the wort but it still clogged up. Construction seemed good but not useful for my purposes

Sweet and simple
Quality is great, price is better. Added this to my brew kettle and it filtered out all sediment, I would recommend to any brewer.

BEST ANSWER: it connects without an adapter to the WELDLESS BULKHEAD FITTING
which is included with that valve assembly and the kettle conversion one.
