We carry a large selection of wine bottle corks, screw caps, stoppers, and closures so you can seal your wine bottles any way you choose. Which cork should you use? While the answer can seem complicated, it comes down to this simple question: How long you want to age your wine? For short term wine aging (3-6 months) a #7 cork will work well. For medium term wine aging (up to 9 months) a #8 cork will do the trick. If you are trying to build a large and diverse wine cellar, we suggest using #9 corks. This will allow for long term aging (9 months or more). Please note that using a #9 cork will require the use of a compression corker. We recommend making an investment in one of our floor corker options. While they are a little more expensive, they pay huge dividends in time saved and ease of use on bottling day.

    Corks
This type of cork works great in standard bottles. Corks in wines four or five years have a tendency to pull apart if the screw is not deeply penetrated . Mid West is the best .

    Great quality. Good price.
These corks worked well for bottling my wine. There were no voids or inconsistent sizing. Every one of them sealed my bottles perfectly. They arrived on the day they were promised. I would buy them again.

Fits even screw on cap bottles
These fit every bottle I've tried to cap so far, even when I lost the screw on cap for a wine bottle, I just plug 'er up with this and it's good to go! Do yourself a favor and get the floor capper unless you weight more than 180lbs, because this will take all your weight to squeeze into the bottle using the cheap bottler! No leaks or deterioration or off flavors in wine, even when on the side.

What type cork is best for long term aging of wine ?
    A shopper on Jan 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: These corks are rated for 2 years. As long as you're going to keep the bottles stored at an angle where the bottom of the cork will be kept wet, I would think you could go even longer... but if you are concerned about the long-term performance, then I'd suggest you use a synthetic cork, more expensive, but no worries about drying out...
Do you have to soak them in anything before use?
    Jeff D on Dec 8, 2017
    BEST ANSWER: Hi Jeff,

It can help to soak the corks before insertion and it is recommended to sanitize them before use.
How many of the #8 corks come in an order
    P I on Dec 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: 30 for the small order, 100 for the large order
