over 2 years agoTop notch pouring. Can transfer wort as a one man show.Excellent quality, nice and sturdy , filters most traub.Great funnel.March 11, 2016Works like it shouldThe added strainer helped me filter my wort further as I was adding it to the fermenter. It works like a funnel should. The only problems I have had with it are that the strainer is so fine that I usually have to use a spatula to work the wort through the funnel and that it is not very stable when using a fermenter with a large lid like a big mouth bubbler or a fast fermenter. I would buy another if mine ever broke (probably smaller). I currently have the 9" and it is unecessarily large I think maybe the 8" or even a 6" would do the job well.January 20, 2016

Browse 4 questions Browse 4 questions and 9 answersIs this funnel's opening actually 9" or is it 10"?is this funnel opening actually 9" or is it 10"?would it work in a gallon fermentor i.e., gallon jug?BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure, but I doubt it. It does work in a 6 gallon glass carboy, however unless the opening in your gallon jug is at least this size it would probably fail.
Check the inner diameter of you jug's opening. If it is at least 1 3/8 inches, it will probably work. But this is a big funnel and, although I usually only pour in 1 gallon at a time, a smaller funnel of similar design should work as well.I've been using this for product for a number of batches and every time I pull it out to use I always ponder over how to really insert the strainer.
My strainer fits nicely over the raised ridge inside the funnel, but as soon as I start to poor it gives way. It doesn't strain a thing. It stays in place with a heavy pour, but I can't imagine this being a requirement. I've also tried to jam it under the ridge to stay in place, but to no avail. What am I doing wrong?BEST ANSWER: Patrick,
I'm not sure why it isn't working for you. it should just snap right in. If you wanted to email us some pictures we could take a look. firstname.lastname@example.org
