Last year's catalogue listed the 10-inch as being loose for the 10-gallon cooler and a tight fit in the five-gallon cooler. Midwest has since changed this and no longer specifies the 10-inch for the 5-gallon cooler. The 9-inch false bottom should fit into the 5-gallon cooler with no problems._x000D_February 18, 2012Good for a 5 Gal CoolerAs other reviews said, the stickers are difficult to remove. I took Goo-Gone and a wire brush to get it off. Fits my 5 Gallon Rubbermaid cooler without issues. I did have a stuck sparge on my first try, but it might have been due to opening the valve too much at the beginning. Overall, a good value. Be careful with the sharp edges. I might have to sand them down since it caught my finger when installing.May 6, 2012Pretty okThis is a perfect size for a 5 gallon rubbermaid. For some reason mine kept floating so my sparge would stick but that wasn't really the fault of the false bottom. When I bought mine there was one annoying part though, it only came with 1 nut to hold the outlet in place. Not a huge deal but it wasn't easy to find a nut the right size.October 27, 2012Works GreatUsed it in my new 5 gal mash ton and it worked like a charm. Fits nice and close to the bottom and edges. Didn't have any issues with grain getting underneath or in the run off.December 7, 2012Great flase bottomFits in my 5 gallon cooler and I've never had a stuck sparge with it.February 14, 2013Would be nice if it was part of a kitI am using this in a 5 gal Rubbermaid water cooler I got at Home Depot. To convert that cooler to a mash/lauter tun, I bought this, the tube fitting(6619), the cooler conversion fit (ZY50), the 1/2" NPT barb, and a 2 foot piece of 1/2 tubing. Should have used high-temp tubing. _x000D_Bonus - The original spigot fit in one of those 1 gallon sun tea containers._x000D_Anyway, I saved a bundle doing the conversion kit this way, but spent quite a bit of time figuring out exactly what I needed.February 21, 2013Worked greatI was looking for something I could adapt to my cooler and this worked great.March 26, 2013Fits my 5 gallon coolerIt fits well inside my 5 gallon mash tun. I like it a lot better than the bazooka screen I used to use that would get crushed. Be aware that the edges are sharp so be careful you don't get cut.April 19, 2013
