DetailsThe Amarillo® hop is perhaps one of the more uniquely flavored varieties to emerge in recent years, and the only variety that is owned by the farmer who bred it. This pale ale showcases ingredients found in the Pacific Northwest and is a great way to get to know the refreshing flavor of the Amarillo.
Ingredients: 10 lbs. Domestic 2-Row barley malt, 8 oz. Carapils®, 8 oz. Caramel 40L, 1/2 oz. Columbus, 2 oz. Amarillo® hops, priming sugar, and yeast.

5.0 / 5.026 ReviewsDrink it freshThis is a great beer after 3 weeks in the fermenting bucket, and 2 weeks carbonating. A nice floral, citrusy aroma and flavor. It has just the right level of bitterness, on par with classic American Pale ales. The sweetness was spot on, just enough to round it out without being overly malty or cloying.February 23, 2013thumbs up!This is a very well balanced pale ale that shows off Amarillo quite nicely. When brewed per instructions the hops are very much there but yet subtle .. a truely nice achievement!December 18, 2009Versatile ale that you can make your own!I made this last summer and added apricot extract to make a nice clone of a certain "Magic" ale that has grown in popularity recently.March 7, 2010DeliciousThis brew is comparable to an IPA and was absolutely delicious. I got lots of compliments and of the 3 beers I had on tap, it was by far the first to go. Giver 'er a try! I'll surely be doing it again.July 16, 2010Super TastyThis brew is super tasty and a great way to appreciate the flavor of Amarillo hops. This is a highly quaffable beer with a nice body and color. My suggestion is to dry hop this with an ounce or two of simcoe for a really nice aroma.September 27, 2010Made it Three TimesI love this, my kids love it, my friends love it...... Great all around drinking beer....April 14, 2012My favorite pale ale kit from MidwestThis is my favorite pale ale kit from Midwest. Just the right amount of hops for bittering, and the flavor and aroma are outstanding. This always goes over well with my non-craft beer drinking friends as well.December 30, 2012Excellent BrewThe amarillo hops are what makes this pale ale excellent. Great fresh ingredients allow for a beer that is tasty and quite frankly disappears out of your fridge way too quick. Great kit Midwest!February 9, 2013Nice Pale aleThe Amarillo hops make this a nice pale ale. A Very drinkable, well balanced pale ale that shows off the Amarillo hops nicely. The hops are noticeable without being overwhelmingFebruary 10, 2013Awesome pale aleWe loved how this came out, and I will brew this again in the summer. Excellent citrusy flavor and aroma. The bittering is not harsh like some other Pale Ales and IPAs. I was expecting Chinook based on the instructions but the Columbus hops worked well in their place.April 7, 2013
