This was a big hit
I have brewed this recipe 3 times now and this last time I served it to my friends and family at my b day party. It was a huge hit, many of my family do not make or drink home brew, most honestly said it was the best beer they have ever tasted. The comments took me by surprise but made me feel great._x000D__x000D_JB

A sigh of relief
This was our first attempt to brew any beer. We held our breath when we uncapped the first bottle, figuring we did something wrong in the brewing process. The aroma was wonderful. It poured out with a nice head and the flavor was great. Can't wait to brew another batch!!!

This was the first time my husband and I attempted to brew our own beer. We were a little intimidated by all the directions but we followed them closely and it paid off! _x000D__x000D_We bottled the beer in 16 oz. Grolsh flip-tops which isn't a large enough serving!!! This beer is so tasty! We will brew it again but we are excited to try different flavors too!

excellent beer imo. i bought the kit over a year ago and it sat in my garage through a winter and 1.5 summers. brewed it a little over month ago and it still came out wonderful despite the temp/humidity changes year round in the midwest. i would definately brew this one again

Great smooth beer
This was one of our earliest brews, and we loved it. We were drinking it at a 3 weeks, and it was good. I'm sure that if we'd allowed it to mature a bit more it would have been even better. We will make this one again.

Pretty good
I'm not a huge fan of amber ale, but this one did pretty well for me. I got a lot of compliments on it, even from people who only really drink Miller Lite. A good middle of the road beer.

If I only want to brew 3 gallons is it just a matter of using 3/5 of the ingredients?
TexasWood on Apr 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You could do this. Depending on the volume of water you use, the utilization efficiency of hops is going to be different, but a simple way to scale down is to just use 60% of the ingredients.
