Amazing taste acutally having a problem not drinking this beer lol a out right great productJuly 24, 2016Basic is usually the best!No high tech ingredients, just great beer! I added 2 pounds of honey to mellow out any possible bitterness, but next batch will only have 1 pound. One of the better batches I've brewed. A definite "repeat"!September 19, 2016Good stuffNice, mellow, easy to drink. I'll make this again.January 11, 2017Purchased
6 months agoGreat taste for little effortWhat could be simpler? Malt extract, water, yeast, and hops...no messing with steeping specialty grains, no lautering. Just boil, chill, aerate, pitch, wait, then bottle. I think I'll incorporate a couple of these Simply Beer kits during the year to give me a mental break and to simply enjoy beer. Yay!December 30, 2016Purchased

Best kit ever? No.
Best kit for $20 bucks? Definitely.
Solid kit for $30? Actually, yeah.
ingredients were top quality and very fresh (mine was delivered on Feb 8th and the speciality grain was packaged on Jan 31st.
Brewing it right now, so haven't tasted the finished product.
If I don't like it, going to bet its on me for making a mistake in the process or just personal preference. The kit itself is a solid product. Would make a good base kit too.February 8, 2017Purchased

Simply Beer - Brown AleBEST ANSWER: I don't remember a "use by" date except on the yeast packet. MS could probably answer better than a customer. Is the resulting beer anything at all like a Dundee's Nut Brown Ale? I am a novice when it comes to brown ales but found that I like Dundee's. Thank you.BEST ANSWER: Never had Dundee's. It's not really a nut ale. I do think this brown ale is a good base recipe, and improves greatly with different steeping grains or hops. Maybe if you can find out what grains and hops they use you can try tweaking your brew. What is the final gravity for this beer?BEST ANSWER: The kit instructions only had OG of 1.048. I brewed at OG of 1.036 and a FG of 1.008. I didn't deviate from anything either.Has anyone tried added a bit of honey when brewing this brown ale?
