4.0 / 5.031 ReviewsGreat taste for little effortWhat could be simpler? Malt extract, water, yeast, and hops...no messing with steeping specialty grains, no lautering. Just boil, chill, aerate, pitch, wait, then bottle. I think I'll incorporate a couple of these Simply Beer kits during the year to give me a mental break and to simply enjoy beer. Yay!December 30, 2016Purchased
1 year ago5 Stars for meMy first but not my last Brown Ale. The service the packing and most important the end product came out great! Highly recommend.September 30, 2016Great!Very easy and tasty result. Would reccomend. I am usually an all grain brewer but decided to try this for an easier brew day. Turned out great and you cannot argue with the price.November 24, 2016Purchased

9 months agoBasic is usually the best!No high tech ingredients, just great beer! I added 2 pounds of honey to mellow out any possible bitterness, but next batch will only have 1 pound. One of the better batches I've brewed. A definite "repeat"!September 19, 2016Good stuffNice, mellow, easy to drink. I'll make this again.January 11, 2017Purchased
1 year agoAmazingPrice is cheap but if you like a brown ale this is the kit for you. Amazing taste acutally having a problem not drinking this beer lol a out right great productJuly 24, 2016Great beerI like that your kits include the yeast for the 5 gallons. I've enjoyed this beer.January 6, 2017Purchased
1 year agoDecent, could use some work...Easy to make, and drinkable in under a month. I don't know if it's really a "brown ale", it finishes as more of an amber ale. The beer is very smooth, but doesn't really have a lot of body. I would definitely recommend adding some finishing hops, since it doesn't really have any hoppiness.
I would recommend this kit to anyone just starting out brewing, since it's easy, or to anyone who's planning to have a big party and wants to fill a cooler with something pretty much everyone will drink, but if you're an experienced brewer you'll probably find this one lacking (although it could be a good "base" kit that you could customize).November 15, 2016nice beer to practicenice easy beer to brew. bought a couple of simple beer kits to practice my new kegging set up and was surprise how good the beer was for the priceFebruary 14, 2017Purchased

Simply Beer - Brown AleBEST ANSWER: I don't remember a "use by" date except on the yeast packet. MS could probably answer better than a customer. Is the resulting beer anything at all like a Dundee's Nut Brown Ale? I am a novice when it comes to brown ales but found that I like Dundee's. Thank you.BEST ANSWER: Never had Dundee's. It's not really a nut ale. I do think this brown ale is a good base recipe, and improves greatly with different steeping grains or hops. Maybe if you can find out what grains and hops they use you can try tweaking your brew. What is the final gravity for this beer?BEST ANSWER: The kit instructions only had OG of 1.048. I brewed at OG of 1.036 and a FG of 1.008. I didn't deviate from anything either.Has anyone tried added a bit of honey when brewing this brown ale? Good results?BEST ANSWER: i have not tried honey in this specific brew, but in two similar batches, both with good results. It was Kroger's brand of clover honey, off-the-shelf, not organic or anything special. What is the abv of this beer?BEST ANSWER: The ABV of this beer is approximately 5.0%.How long after I receive this do I have before I need to brew it. Might want to buy multiple styles.BEST ANSWER: The shelf life of the kits would be 3-4 months with no problem; after that the specialty grains in the kits would start to be a bit stale. The other components would be fine for longer than that, though. - Mike W, Midwest Suppliesare these simply beers extract kits or all grainBEST ANSWER: All the "Simply Beer" kits are extract kits, simplified as much as possible! - Mike W, Midwest Supplies
