DetailsThe fermentor that started it all, reinvented again! We’ve taken the revolutionary Big Mouth Bubbler® glass and re-engineered it with the help of world-class Polish master glassmakers to ensure sturdy, solid, superior craftsmanship.
Extra-thick glass eliminates oxygen permeation and keeps your brew safe. Banish bugs and bacteria with perfectly air-tight seals from a carefully ground, completely smooth and obsessively flat neck top.
In the evolution of Big Mouth Bubbler®, we’ve added some perks! Instantly measure volume with gallon graduation marks. Easier transfer of clear beer with a taller, narrower body while ensuring less liquid is left behind.
Say goodbye to that awkward brush and give your fermentor the deep-clean your beer deserves. Scrub off any unseen biofilm. Effortlessly wipe away crusted krausen in just a couple of carefree minutes.
Bid your funnel and siphon sayonara! Pour cooled wort directly from your kettle into the Big Mouth Bubbler® for instant transfers. Pitch yeast without it running down the sides of your fermentor. Easily add flavorings to secondary, and then just as easily remove them!
Last but not least, you asked and we listened—more space for the adhesive FermagraF° LCD thermometer than any other glass fermentor! The most obsessively engineered glass fermentor ever created—we are proud and excited to introduce the new and improved Big Mouth Bubbler® EVO 2.
Caution: Big Mouth Bubbler® is a large hand-formed glass item that can be easily damaged if not used with proper care and handling. It may have variations in shape and thickness, and will show the normal bubbling characteristics of hand-formed glass. Extreme changes in temperature or sudden contact with hard surfaces may cause glass to crack. Handle with care–we strongly recommend using the Big Mouth Bubbler® carrying harness for increased safety and ease of handling.
Note: We still strongly recommend the Big Mouth Bubbler® carrying harness.
Each Big Mouth Bubbler® Includes:
- Big Mouth Bubbler® Glass Fermentor, Universal Lid*
- Big Mouth Bubbler® Microfiber Cleaning Cloth
*The new Big Mouth Universal Lid (included) fits all Big Mouth Bubbler® Fermentors, and has ribbed silicone rings ensure a completely air-tight seal.
You will also need a Small Universal Carboy Bung (not Included) - drilled or solid.
Please note: This item does not qualify for flat rate shipping.

3.6 / 5.07 ReviewsNeeds a screw on lidThe glass is great, the large opening is great, the lid, it sucks! I have tried wet and dry. the only thing that works is having the lid rope tied to the bottle so it stays down. PLEASE come up with a real lid. I really do not want to waste over $100 on honey and a years time because of a $5 part.January 21, 2016Response from Midwest SuppliesHi Eugene,
Thanks for submitting this review. We used to have plastic screw-on lids for the Big Mouth Bubbler, but they often had a poor fit. We switched to the universal lids that you have in response to those issues. So, these lids are actually an improvement over the original lids. Please give us a call and we would be happy to resolve any issues you're having with your lids and should be able to send out a replacement for you.November 2, 2016Midwest Supplies MNice glass unit, but near worthless lid...I've been brewing wine for almost 4 years now. Decided to transition over to beer. I've purchased over $1000 of equipment from Midwest from the start of wine to the beer brewing now and have been extremely happy with everything so far....up until this bubbler lid. The "universal lid" simply does not stay in place. Wet or dry the flutes on the lid won't hold (even with nothing in the bubbler) and the lid pushed back out. Add your beer into it and it pushes out even faster. I've got a glass bubbler but have found out from others that the plastic will do the same thing. I guess there isn't a screw on lid for the glass bubbler yet. Found no answers anywhere. I have to cans of thick and chunky soup holding my lid down. Again, the bubbler itself is sweet.....the lid sucks.December 17, 2015works great no problemsworks great no problemsDecember 28, 2015Excelent!I have 2 of these and they are very heavy duty. Made 3 batches of beer through both. only problem is the lid will slip off during fermentation. I use milk crates as carriers and use a bungee cord to strap over the lid and resolve the problem with the lid.October 1, 2016Lid issues make this great product hard to use.The lid sucks as most have said. First batch was ok second round as a secondary I went out n to find the airlock had slipped up and almost came out and the lid had popped entirely up and was resting on top. It works great dry but was you StarSan it it's just loose. I use packing tape to keep the lid in now.February 16, 2017Purchased
3 months agoBacteria magnetSee all those little bubble shaped dimples all over the sides? Even with easy access for cleaning, the yeast/sludge/krausen sticks in them and is very difficult to keep clean. Who thought up that design?July 24, 2015ServiceThe big mouth bubbler is a great tool, very handy. Midwest delivered it with no gasket for the lid, yet another issue from Midwest. The product is great the service not so much!January 22, 2016Response from Midwest SuppliesHi Greg, I apologize that was missing but I see we did get a replacement sent to you and it looks like that was delivered on the 13th. Is that working alright for you?November 2, 2016Midwest Supplies M

Browse 3 questions Browse 3 questions and 4 answersThe review mentions that the inside of the fermenter is not smooth, that the bubbles that are part of the design of the fermenter also make the inside of the fermenter not smooth. Is that true?BEST ANSWER: The only "bubbles" in the glass on my fermenter are on the outside of the vessel. The inside is very smooth on my unit. However, the lid doesn't stay put unless I hold it down by tying a shoelace across the handles on the optional nylon web carboy carrier. What is the diameter of the mouth?BEST ANSWER: The diameter of the mouth is 5.25".What are the dimensions of this fermenter? Height and width?BEST ANSWER: Hi AI,
It's about 13" in diameter and about 19" tall, without the airlock.
