Each fermentation will depend somewhat on the yeast strain used and other conditions, but lager fermentations can be done in as few as 10 days. However, it may take as much as 4 weeks for primary fermentation. Secondary fermentation can take as long as 2 -3 months on some styles of beer. Pitching rate, temperature, and proper oxygenation of your cooled wort all can impact the fermentation rate.
