2 months agoWould buy it again! This package was priced just right and works great. The Dark star burner is a huge step up from my Turkey fryer burner and the Tri clad bottom on the Tall Boy has kept me from burning LME. The worst chiller is so-so. It works just fine but it I fell that I could be a bit larger. I ended up using it to build a prechilling system.May 8, 2018Purchased

1 year agoGreat QualityHeavy gauge SS kettle heats evenly. Dark Star burner took 6 gallons of water to a full boil very quickly (I did not set the timer). Immersion chiller cooled the wort to <80 in 25 minutes. The only thing missing is the big spoon.October 23, 2017Purchased
1 year agoImproved brew day tremendously. You will not be let down.Great price for a nice set up. Couldn't believe how fast the wort chiller cooled my wort (but do make sure get a sink adapter if you want to use it inside). The burner stayed lit the whole time with no problems, and the the stand is very solid and sturdy. The kettle is stainless steel, very durable, and even has capacity markings etched in. Great product for a great price.April 15, 2017Purchased

1 year agoPot and wort chiller are good, burner is just okThe Tall Boy pot is sturdy and has a nice finish. I like how the handles don't get hot during my mash or boil stages. The wort chiller cooled my wort quickly and has no leaks. The only improvement I would make is the hose connection has a loose rubber gasket that I almost lost during cleaning. The burner is the worst part of the kit I received, but it does work effectively. I was able to bring my wort to a boil in just a few minutes, but I noticed the heat caused the "heat-resistant" paint to burn and flake off pretty badly along one side. The base ring on the burner is also not balanced, so my pot rocks back and forth when I stir the wort gently. Makes me feel a little uneasy to have several gallons of boiling liquid on a base that may or may not tip over. If the paint had not burned and flaked off the burner in my first use and the base of the burner was balanced, this kit would get 5 stars from me.March 20, 2017Purchased

Thank you for choosing Midwest Supplies! The Tall Boy kettles are not graduated. There is a layer of aluminum on the bottom to better disperse the heat. I hope that this helps!
