I refer back to this book when making other recipes.September 28, 2013Awesome collection of recipesIts great to have a few recipes for each style, in order to learn them. Plus it's fun making them and reading the commentary.March 9, 2014Best to-style recipe book period. If you don't know the authors already, do a bit of research and you'll understand the value of this book. The authors do well to explain style characteristics. They also include helpful charts and graphs regarding hop profiles, carbonation volumes, and really just everything you need to know to really nail a particular beer style. Highly recommended.June 2, 2011Excellent overall, all grain centric wrapped as extractI love the book but 7 gallon boils are questionable. The basis is 7 gallon boil, ferment 5.5 for end production of 5 gallons. Just is not that kind of loss in extract brewing. Jamil is a brilliant all grain brewer but I wonder if he brewed these as extracts? I've adjusted mine down to a 5 gallon boil, 5.57 or so to start.September 5, 2011Excellent - Best Recipe Book to OwnThese are can't go wrong recipes. Everyone one of them that I've brewed has been spot on, that is if I didn't screw something up! Best book I own for brew recipes.November 30, 2012Learn about different stylesNot just a recipe book, this gives you some insight on what each style is, and how to brew in that style. A great into and lead up to the 13 volume Classic styles series. Its a gate way book, letting the extract brewer branch out.December 13, 2012
