4.9 / 5.025 ReviewsAwesome kitI've been a huge Anchor Steam beer fan for years and when I started brewing about a year ago, I knew I wanted to brew a clone steam beer. I was not disappointed, this beer tastes incredible. My friends that I have shared it with have also given it great reviews. I plan to start kegging my beer pretty soon, and this will be the first beer that I keg. I plan to brew this kit on a regular basis._x000D_I went with the liquid yeast, by the way.April 16, 2014Sam Adams CloneBrewed this with the wyeast. Used a starter. Hit all my numbers, aged for 4 weeks in secondary at cool temps._x000D__x000D_Essentially this beer is a like a better tasting version of Sam Adams Boston Lager. If you put them side by side your average person would have a hard time to tell which is which.May 1, 2014Great kit worth tying againThis was one of my first kits. Brew went well Primary and secondary were near perfect at 62 degees.Bottled it and after 2 weeks tested and it had the carbonation of iced tea. Left it conditioning for 2 more weeks and it was fantastic! I gave some to a friend who hasn't tried it yet after almost 2 months, should be amazing, I used Wyeast for that batch ordered it again for the summer months using dry yeast. I will let everyone know!... important fact like all homebrews the more patience you have to let it sit the better the beer!June 26, 2014Always dependableSteam ale is a great kit to add stuff to. I use it for IPAsMarch 25, 2016California Steam BeerOne of my favorites to brew and also well liked by my friends, this beer is flavorful and refreshing with just the right mix of hops. Goes well with most foods and is also good to have simply to share a beer with friends and relax.February 14, 2016Great beer, ok price. This is my favorite beer that I have made in the two years of home brewing. I highly recommend.February 18, 2013Have to use liquid yeastThis is fantastic. I think a lot of the crisp flavor comes from the liquid yeast. A crowd favorite, everyone enjoys it.February 22, 2013Nice light beerI normally make Pale Ales and other more robust flavored brews, but wanted to get something in the bottle that wasn't as intense and the the wife could enjoy. This one is a winner. It's crisp with a mild maltiness and lightly hopped. It's full enough to know you're drinking a good homebrew, but light enough that you can down 3 or 4 in an hour without falling out of your chair.March 4, 2013Crowd favoriteThis is a great middle of the road brew. This is a great alternative to brewing a lager that taste great with out having to worrying about temp control.March 30, 2013Best Beer that I have madeThis has been by far the best kit that I have made in my 2 plus years of homebrewing. A very smooth, drinkable beer for summertime enjoyment.April 2, 2013
