DetailsTo use the Carboy Cap: Push a racking cane through the center tube, place on the top of your carboy, blow into the other tube, and a siphon is easily started. May also be used for blow-off when fermenting. Attach a length of 3/8" ID tubing to the hood, and run the tubing into a bucket of water. When used this way, the carboy cap takes the place of an airlock.
Note:The Acid Carboy Cap for use on older style 6.5 gallon acid carboys with the threaded tops.
This Cap is too small for our current 6.5 Gallon Carboy (U7007) with a standard neck. See our Standard Carboy Cap for that carboy.

3.8 / 5.011 ReviewsBest Purchase so farThis thing is awesome, I just stick my racking cane in and blow into the other side, siphon starts itself and doesn't stop!!December 12, 2012Good ProductI thought I would try this with tubing for a blow-off tube instead of just a big piece of tubing. Fits fairly well on the 6.5 gal carboy, i do wish it was a bit more snug, but think it is tight enough to keep air out. I think this should work fine for a blow-off on a primary.February 16, 2013Nice addition to beer gearNice thing to have for your carboy. I get tired of having to clean and sanitize a stopper and airlock so this is just the remedy. Good for popping on your carboy and transporting. Also good when you have a bit too much wort in your carboy and need to add a blow off.March 24, 2013Good price, but not a snug fit and holes are too small for racking caneBought it for my 6.5 carboy, and was disappointed to see that it did not fit very tight around the top. It works, but it seems a little too loose. Only other complaint is that the holes are extremely small, and do not fit the racking cane like the instructions say. I really had to stretch it out in order to get the racking cane to fit._x000D__x000D_One great feature is that the siphon can be started by blowing into the other hole, no auto siphon needed. Check out Google for some good videos and pictures on how to do this.April 4, 2013It is what it isI have 2 of these for both of my 6.5 gal. carboys. Fits snuggly and is actually a little difficult to get off. I run a 1/2" SS thermowell down the middle and a length of 3/8" silicone tubing off the side as a blow off/airlock. Works perfectly.May 20, 2013So glad I got thisI was using a rubber stopper that always wanted to pop out. Most times I needed to do a heavy tape job around the stopper to keep it in. Big hassle anytime I wanted to check gravity. This cap fits perfectly snug...seems to be airtight as my blowoff tube bubbles like it always did. I don't recall the size, but I had some tubing laying around that fits around the smaller cap stem for very easy blowoff tube setup. Best $4 I ever spent.January 6, 2017Purchased
10 months agoWorks well but the finish could be betterThis fits well on my more recent version Italian 6.5 carboys(glass large threaded necks). I use it as a blow off and have not have any problems yet. Once fermentation calms down i switch to a standard bung plug and airlock. The finish quality could be better on the inside, it is very rough inside. This makes it more challenging to clean and sanitize.March 1, 2013works alrightI wanted to use this for blow off tubing. It isn't an ideal fit, but it works. Like one reviewer said, it is rough on the inside. I hope this doesn't help harbor bacteria or yeast. Sanitize well. It is pretty cheap.July 25, 2013Mine doesn't fit tightMine doesn't fit tight on the top of my 6.5-gallon carboy, so I have not gotten any use from mine. Hopefully it was just an oddball defect and others have had a better experience. I have had no problems with the functionality of the rubber stopper style, so that is what I have been using.January 4, 2013not worth itdo not buy this. I have 2 6.5 gallon carboys. Doesn't fit air tight on either. Doesn't work with a blow off tube or an airlock. a most disappointing item.March 22, 2013
