5.2 is a proprietary blend of food-grade phosphate buffers (similar to brewer’s salts) that will lock in your mash and kettle water at a pH of 5.2 regardless of the starting pH of your water. 5.2 is safe for your mash and WILL NOT add any flavors to your beer. 5.2 will provide consistency of pH in any water conditions, but the most significant gains will be obtained if you are brewing in hard water. Use 5.2 Mash Stabilizer to optimize your enzymatic activity in your malt, help clarify your wort, and achieve a more consistent hop utilization. Use 1/3 oz. per 5 gallons of water.

I was having difficulty getting proper starch conversion and this helped get me in the right pH range and conversion went quickly.
I brew with the Grainfather and I've had problems reaching my target numbers ever since I got it. My mash efficiency stank. When I wanted an OG of 1.055, I got 1.044. When I wanted 1.040, I got 1.029. I tried single, 2- & 3-step mashing, double milling the grist, adding rice hulls, extending the mash duration to 90 min all to no avail ... until I tried this product. The first time I tried 52 pH I hit my numbers exactly! I wanted a preboil SG of 1.044 & got 1.046 and an OG of 1.055 and got 1.054. I highly recommend this product!
Good price. Does the job
I followed the directions and measured out the correct amount. I have a pH meter and it didn't bring the wort pH to 5.2. It didn't seem to have the desired effect.
I followed directions and was careful measuring. I didn't care for the taste of the beer afterwards. I used pH strips and it didn't get the pH to where it was supposed to be.
