I won't know about 2016 until later this year as I let it age for at least one year. The initial SG reading in 2013 was 1.130. The final SG reading was 1.1. The initial SG reading for the 2016 batch was 1.12. I use the recommended sugar. However, I usually ferment for longer and age for longer. Good luck and enjoy. What is the base juice? Is it from a single veriety, or is it a blend? If a blend, what varieties are used? (I don't expect you to divulge any secrets)BEST ANSWER: Wayne i bought this kit because my wife went a vineyard in Niagra Falls and loved the ice wine that was served. This Vidal dessert wine kit was better than the 80 dollar bottle of ice wine she brought home . Don't remember what the base juice was but I highly recommend the kit
