Browse 1 question Browse 1 question and 4 answersWhat is the starting brix?BEST ANSWER: I've done Vidal Ice twice (2013 and 2016). In 2013, it came out fantastic. I won't know about 2016 until later this year as I let it age for at least one year. The initial SG reading in 2013 was 1.130. The final SG reading was 1.1. The initial SG reading for the 2016 batch was 1.12. I use the recommended sugar. However, I usually ferment for longer and age for longer. Good luck and enjoy.
