My kombucha will always have some growth of the culture. I do however strain the finished kombucha whether or not I do a second ferment, this may help you. My daughter strains hers as she pours it into her glass. Just the way living food is.where does your scoby come from?BEST ANSWER: They provide a small Scoby and after your first brew. Your Scoby Will be huge you can then cut it into several smaller scobys and have multiple brews going or put it in a plastic bag with some tea in it to keep it alive. It'll last a long time.If you are beginning a new batch with the previous scoby and 1 qt of leftover liquid, how much water would you add to the fermentor after seeping the tea? 2 qts instead of the 3 qts in the original recipe? Thank you.BEST ANSWER: It would be dependent on your tea strength and sugar usage. If you are using the Little Big Mouth Bubbler, I would suggest using the full 3 qts. Cheers
