Browse 3 questions Browse 3 questions and 9 answersWhere is the best place to drill the hole?BEST ANSWER: It comes with instructions but I would go about 1/2 to an inch higher. Otherwise it seems your pull too much trub out when getting a sample. Is this drill bit for plastic only or can it be used for metal or glass?BEST ANSWER: This is a tungsten coated step bit suitable for drilling holes into most materials.
Drilling plastic with this bit is sort of like taking a 50 BMG to a knife fight.
However, much like the BMG, I do not think it will drill holes into glass without shattering it.What size is the drill hole needed? and can I buy the spigot lone.BEST ANSWER: You will need to drill a 1 inch hole. You can most definitely purchase the spigot alone. Here is the link to that spigot. http://www.midwestsupplies.com/fermenter-s-favoritestm-bottling-spigot.html I hope that this helps!
