My next batch I added 1 tbsp gelatin finings about a week before I was going to bottle. The effect was great, the beer cleared immensely and many friends even commented on how much better they felt drinking beer that you can see through again. Given the price of a normal batch, I'd say it's definitely worth it's value. I typically add 1 Tbsp to very little boiled filtered water and let it cool before adding it in. I should probably change my process too, but this works well. The beer was also clear, but I think the whirlflock and cold crash were responsible for that as I have used them more often than this.
