1 year agoYou can not trust the scale to be accurate...without testing it in distilled water first. I bought 2 of them. They were both off. I previously owned a similar hydrometer that was all glass...it was right on until I broke it...my next ones will be glass...even if I break another one...March 22, 2018Purchased

Browse 1 question Browse 1 question and 5 answersHow long is it?BEST ANSWER: The entire meter is about 10 1/2 inches long. However the scale you are reading is 3 1/2 inches long to read from 1.020 to 0.980. A normal Hydrometer is the same length...the scale is equal in length-but you are reading from 1.060 to 0.990. This makes it much easier to determine an accurate reading in order to determine if it is time to bottle or not.
