Details

This bulb has something no other T5 bulb has: full spectral distribution, plus UVA and UVB, covering from 280 nm to 400 nm: it’s the closest to the sun that a T5 bulb can get.

What’s the big deal with that? The balanced spectrum produces stronger, healthier plants that make higher quality blooms and flowers, blasting extreme photosynthesis, making stronger roots, faster growth, higher yields and better smelling and tasting crops. If you’re starting inside and moving to an outside grow it will also make for an easy transition to sunlight.

Pro-tip: If you’re currently running a 24 hour on cycle reduce to 19 hours if you’re switching to 100% Powerveg lamps. Alternatively, you can go 50/50 standard T5 and Powerveg and stay at 24 hours.

Safety Note: These bulbs put out UVA and UVB rays. Possible skin or eye irritation can result from exposures exceeding 30 minutes when working less than 8 inches from the lamp. Use appropriate skin and eye protection—just like you would out in the sun.

I’ve read some NASA research on UV for plants and they say that UV-A blocks the benefits of UV-B, and how they are supposed to be used at different times of growth stages. Is there a ratio of UVA to UVB that can better describe the light performance?
