DetailsCreated in 1971, the Super Tuscan style blends the fine, dusty tannins and tart cherry of Chianti with the bold, forward fruit and deeper grip of Bordeaux. Full-bodied and dry, with farm fresh raspberries, bright red cherry and blackberry fruit, licorice, and spice complemented by zesty acidity, and a long, generous finish, rounded out with black pepper, vanilla and sweet oak.
Acidity makes this a natural with tomato sauces and tannin tackles any rich or unctuous food. Try it with Tuscan style pork roast, lamb shanks braised in herbed tomato sauce, or a wild mushroom lasagne.

1 month agoTuscany KitHad a successful experience making the RJS En Primeur Italian Super Tuscan. I have made Tuscan wines from other kits and really appreciated the RJS approach. This is my first En Primeur Kit and I was impressed. Liked the top notch labels. I look forward to my nextJS En Primeur Kit.March 8, 2019Purchased

1 year agoHope it tastes like the aroma it's putting out!Not sure yet. The first fermentation started too slow. I added yeast nutrient and it finally started fermenting. It didn't do anything in the second fermentation, but the SG did get to the number to begin clearing and stabilizing. The aromas are fantastic, and I'm hoping I didn't do anything wrong in this process. I will buy this juice again and start to process in my new 6.5 gallon glass carboy. You need more room because of the grape skins.January 28, 2019Purchased

I got 29 bottles from this batch. I bottled in December and kept the juice on the grape skins for an extra 2 weeks for an extended grape skin exposure. Goes well with meats, hard cheeses, and tomato based sauces.May 3, 2018So far so good! It's in the making ?? Loved the berries and oak chips!February 15, 2017Purchased
over 2 years agoBubbling Away!Too early to review taste, as it's in the first step, but if it's anything like the two previous kits from Midwest, I may have to lock up my wine stock from my daughters!January 9, 2016
