DetailsA precision hydrometer for measuring gravity. This is a great range for most beers and is far more accurate and easier to read than the standard homebrewing hydrometer. Calibrated to 60 degrees F. .0005 resolution.

Browse 1 question Browse 1 question and 2 answersI bought this hydrometer as a spare. I wanted a spare just incase my original hydrometer broke, First time I used it I put it in my test jar and it hit bottom and didn't float. I checked my longtime one and I got an FG of 1.008. Checked again with my new one (this one) and it hit bottom again. So does this hydrometer require a special jar? When I bought it assumed it would work with any standard jar. (Order #11027178 )BEST ANSWER: Steve,
This is a lab grade hydrometer so it could just be a bit or sensitive then the one your currently have. It should work with your current test jar. It could also be that there isn't enough liquid in the test jar so it's not floating. Let me know if I can help further.
