DetailsProbably the most commonly used base malt in all-grain or partial-mash brewing. Yields a slightly higher extraction rate than 6-Row. 2-Row is well modified, smooth, and high in enzymes. A single step infusion mash will easily convert 2-Row, but a protein rest is recommended to improve clarity.

5.0 / 5.01 ReviewConverts wellI get great conversion with this malt, at a minimum 70%. I use two bags a year, at around 10 # of grain, brewing at least monthly. It has enough diastatic power to handle adjuncts as well.March 4, 2014

Browse 1 question Browse 1 question and 2 answersIf I order fifty or fifty five pounds, would you just send a whole bag of grain? Or would it be fifty, one pound bags?BEST ANSWER: There is a bulk option which gets you one 50 lb bag. Search for domestic base malts. That would be 1x 50 lb bag, in the original maltster packaging. They can only be ordered as whole malt though. Ordering by the pound get you grain packaged by the pound usually. Though if it was exactly 50 lbs the grain room might just send the sack itself.
