Browse 1 question Browse 1 question and 2 answersHow much does one unit of this have in it? Is it sufficient for one batch? Is it sold by the ounce, or the pound, etc.? I never bought individual grains before, and this is my first time doing something non-kit. I already have hops, ale yeast, and priming sugar, etc., for a hoppy pale ale, and I want sufficient grains for three 5-gallon batches, that will involve adding hops both in the wort and dry-hopping as it ferments.BEST ANSWER: Merlinus,
Our grains are sold by the pound. Depending on your recipe you can see how many pounds you'll need. For a typical 5 gal all grain batch you're looking at 9-11 lbs of pale malt needed. Again though this does depend on your recipe as the higher you go in starting gravity the more grain you'll need.
