It just wraps around the outside of the bucket and has a temperature sensor probe. I tape the probe to the outside of the bucket, then just use masking tape to tape the heater over the temperature sensor and to the bucket.What is the BOTTOM inside diameter?BEST ANSWER: Just under 12".
