1 year agoExcellent taste & easyI just started using wine kits and this is a good one. Beautiful color & taste. Ended up with 14.8% ABV so it’s definitely one to sip and enjoy slowly. Thumbs up!March 14, 2019Purchased

2 months agoGreat MerlotVery fruity, full body wine with a smooth finish to the back of your palate. Out of the box alcohol content is a little low around 9%. I added 2 pounds corn sugar and 1 pound table sugar to bring ABV up to 12.5%. Perfect!!February 28, 2019Purchased

3 months agoBetter than anything I can buyThis is a go to wine for us.. I add 1 lb. Of sugar and add to oak spirals in the last stage for 3-4 weeks and it is velvetyJanuary 19, 2019Purchased
1 year agoMaster Vinter MerlotThis is a good kit. I will say a lot of bang for the buck. This wine was ready to drink at bottling… and I did. The yield was better than average. I normally get 25 or 26 bottles from a 6 gallon kit, but this one yielded 28 bottles plus a full glass. I used the oak chips that came with the kit which rendered a pleasing and barely discernible hint of oak. The tannins are virtually non-discernible which appropriately suits my palette. Again, this kit is a good investment.January 11, 2019Purchased

Browse 3 questions Browse 3 questions and 24 answersis this a dry wine or a sweet wine? how can I sweeten it if it is dry? i prefer a sweet wine with a good quantity of AlcoholCan I let my kit sit for six weeks before using the juice? I have an unforeseen time conflict and don't want it to go to waste.BEST ANSWER: Yes. I have brought these kits now for several years and have some sit for 60 days with no issues. I would take the yeast package out when the kit arrives and put it in the refrigerator. Stone the kit in a cool place.Do I stir everyday during primary fermentation?BEST ANSWER: Yes, that's recommended. Make sure to sanitize the long handled spoon. I have done that many times with no problems. But be careful. Don't stir too vigorously or the wine can foam up and overflow, depends on the primary fermenter. I use the 7.5 gallon bucket so I don't have that problem.
