DetailsMead was probably the first alcoholic beverage known on this planet. Known as the drink of the gods, Mead is easy to brew and definitely worth the 4 to 12 month wait. Your patience is rewarded with a beverage ranging from 10-15% in alcohol content. Two stage fermentation required. Dry Meads have a dryer, cleaner and sharper finish than sweet meads. This mead can be made still (no carbonation) or sparkling. Our ingredients for this recipe include 12 lbs. of Clover Honey, priming sugar, Yeast nutrient, Acid Blend and yeast. Makes 5 Gallons.

5.0 / 5.01 ReviewAmazingPitch yeast on August 22nd. Racked to secondary on October 1at. Bottled at end of Feb. Sampled my first bottle bottle on April 15. Should have waited till 1st of May, but taxes were done and I wanted to celebrate. Never made mead before. Have tried still variants. I made the dry sparkling variety for my first effort. Wow! Really good. Really strong. Definitely don't want to mistake this for a beer and continue your daily activities. Exceptional taste and carbonation, but very strong. Caution is advised since it doesn't taste as strong as it is. Well done Midwest on this kit. Really good!April 18, 2016

Browse 1 question Browse 1 question and 4 answersDoes this come with the equipment as well as the ingredients needed?BEST ANSWER: All ingredients are in the package needed to make your Mead. But you will be responsible for getting your bucket / carboy etc and other equipment to ferment your Mead. Be aware that this will have to age for at least a year before it will be ready. Adhere to strict sterile and cleaning to avoid an infection which can ruin your Mead.
