over 2 years agoGood as a base malt for Brown and Amber alesIt tastes good, maybe better than the Briess extracts. I like the caramel flavor better. Even if I make an all grain batch, I will sometimes prime with dry malt extract instead of sugar.January 9, 2014YumI added this and a bag of light dme to my apple beer aka graff...it gave it a nice flavor. I will be buying more in my next order!November 16, 2013amber dmei use this in my darker English beers or to boost ABV. Good color and flavor.September 8, 2013good for many beersThe Muntons DME tastes a little different and better than the Briess DME. I tried both in a side by side experiment and prefered the Muntons. Maybe it's how they mashed it, or there is a difference in what was added, but somehow the Muntons is better. Try your next beer with it and see.August 27, 2013Good general purpose base extractMy preferred beers are porters, brown ales, and amber also, so this is a natural DME to use. I also use it for my yeast starters. It's sticks to everything so what i do is pre-measure out what I need, so I can dump it directly in, so it doesn't have time to stick to the side of the bag.April 16, 2013Good StuffGood DME I just made the mistake of buying 1 pound when it is way cheaper to buy the 3 lb bag.February 11, 2013Sticky - keep water away!Wow - this stuff likes water! It sticks to anything if there is even a hint of moisture. Rich caramel flavor, this is a quality product. I use it in IPAs and Pale Ales.January 8, 2013
